More than 300 security and data protection professionals attended the 6th ISMS Security Forum meeting in Madrid on September 27th 2017. The main theme of the meeting was the application of artificial intelligence in emerging cybersecurity solutions as a way to address the new risks that arise in a hyper-connected society for the development of the digital economy.
The session discussed potential internal and external threats, management of risk and third parties, and the reporting of security incidents. In addition, European policies on cybersecurity and data protection were revised, with particular attention being given to the new considerations regarding proactive accountability and resilience included in the new European Data Protection Regulation.
Jordi Martínez, Director of Communication and Institutional Relations at Institut Cerdà, attended the conference and made a presentation on the importance of good communication during the management of a security incident. “Today the incidents do not belong to a single company, rather they are globalized and the information reaches everyone.”
Jordi Martínez concluded that today, people need to share: “You do not need to be given a new cybersecurity manual, rather you need to feel part of a common project on cybersecurity in your company or organization,”
The event was chaired by Daniel Largacha, Director of the Cyber Security Centre, accompanied by Gianluca D’Antonio, President of ISMS Forum Spain, and was inaugurated by José María Lassalle, Secretary of State for Information Society and Digital Agenda.
