Salvador Alemany Mas – President
He is president of Saba Infrastructures; Vice-President of the Spanish Association of Motorways, Tunnels, Bridges and Other Toll Road Concessionaire Companies (ASETA), Vice-President of Parc Logístic SA and of the Intermodal Logistics Centre, SA (CILSA). He has been President of the Economic Circle and also of the Advisory Council for the Economic Reactivation of Catalonia. He has a degree in economics and a Diploma from IESE.
General Direction
Carlos Cabrera i Massanés | General Director 
Barcelona, 1957. Civil Engineer (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, UPC), MBA from ESADE and AMP from Columbia Business School. He has been CEO of the Institut Cerdà since 1996. He has more than 35 years of experience in the consulting sector. He has been an associate professor in the Department of Operations and Innovation Management at ESADE since 1988, he is author of the book “El Celler de Can Roca: generating value in service companies”, and he is member of the Ethics Commitee of Caritas Cataluña.
Technical advisors

Eduard Calvo
He has a degree and a Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from the UPC, and has worked as a researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on various occasions. He is currently Professor of Operations at IESE, where he teaches on the Executive Education and Custom programme. He is also the Academic Director of IESE’s Initiative for Excellence in Operations (INEO) and the Industrial Excellence Award Spain. He has over 5 years of experience in strategy and operations consultancy in Europe and Latin America. In 2005 he won the “Salvà i Campillo” prize for novel engineering awarded by the Catalan Association of Telecommunications Engineers and in 2004 was named in the “Top 40 Business School professors under 40” list.

Albert Girbal Puig
He is an Industrial Engineer (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), has a Master of Science in Energy Engineering and in Mechanical Engineering (University of Pennsylvania) and also has management qualifications from leading business schools (PDG from IESE and Master in Business Management from EADA). He has occupied Senior Management posts in various industrial companies for over 20 years. Currently he is a part-time teacher at the IESE Business School and also a consultant specialised in operational management in the industrial and services sectors. He was formerly Director of the Energy and Environment Area of Institut Cerdà and currently collaborates with Institut Cerdà in relation to work on Risk and Resilience Management.

Jaume Hugas Sabater
He is an Industrial Engineer (ETSIB – Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, UPC) and has a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from ESADE. He also has a degree from the Harvard Business School and has done the postgraduate courses at Stanford, Darden and Olin Business School. He has been a Professor of operations and innovation of ESADE since 1990. He has been Director of Supply Chain Management of consumption of Ralston Purina, in Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Director of Manufacturing Operations of Ralston Purina international, as well as Corporate Director of Manufacturing and Engineering of Ralston Purina Company for Canada, Asia-Pacific and Amèrica Llatina. He was director of production and engineering for Gallina Blanca Purina in Spain and Portugal, and director of projects and works in SA Master of engineering and consulting. He is the author of numerous published articles and case studies.

Pere Roca
He graduated in Operations Management and Innovation at ESADE and has a Master’s degree in Supply Chains from the Catalan Institute of Logistics Research (ICIL) Foundation. He is currently Director General of Districenter, a logistics operator specialized in logistics service companies, retail and e-commerce. He also collaborates with various business and professional organisations, is president of ICIL, vice president and professor of the ICIL Foundation, vice president of PIMEC Logistics and a member of the executive committee of BCL. He has also participated as an academic collaborator at ESADE in their Operations related programmes. In 2008 he won the Operations and Logistics Manager of the Year prize, awarded by the Logistics Leaders Club (2008).

Frederic Sabrià Miracle
He has a P.hd in Civil Engineering (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, UPC), and Master of Engineering (Berkeley, University of California). He is currently Professor of operations and technology at IESE (Universidad de Navarra). He has been guest professor of the IAE; (Argentina) andHEC Lausanne (Switzerland). He has conducted research in the field of operations, transport and logistics. Author of five books and published more than 50 articles, he also regularly works as a consultant for industrial companies, public administration and services. He was a member of the Olympic water polo team (4th position, Moscow 1980), and champion of Europe (Club Natació Barcelona, 1981).

Julián Arenas Ylla | Innovation and Transport / Logistics Director 
Girona 1959. He is a Civil Engineer (UPC) specialised in Production (ESADE) who joined Institut Cerdà in 2016. His career to date has involved private sector civil engineering, consultancy and engineering. He has been the assistant to the General Director of GECSA Ingeniería y Obras SA, and Director of the Barcelona Branch of Bechtel España, SL. He has wide ranging experience in project development and direction of public works.

Miguel Hernández Moreno | Sustainability Director 
Barcelona, 1980. He has a degree in Environmental Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and joined the Institut Cerdà 2003. He has extensive experience in planning and integrated management of various environmental vectors (waste, water, biodiversity, land, etc.), as well as in the design and development of sustainability policies. Before joining Institut Cerdà he collaborated with NCO Consulting in the preparation and execution of European environmental projects and also participated in the analysis of the “Prestige crisis”.

Lluís Inglada i Renau | Territory and Public Sector Director 
Barcelona, 1970. He has a Degree in Geography (University of Barcelona), is a qualified Urban Planner (School of Public Administration of Catalonia), has a Masters in Urban Management (UPC) and a Masters in Urban and Land Use Studies (UPC, UPF and the School of Public Administration of Catalonia). He joined the Institut Cerdà 2001 and has extensive experience in logistics, infrastructure, transport and planning. Previously he worked for the Cartographic Institute of Catalonia, for the University of Barcelona and for the private company Barcelona Tecnologia S.A. specializing in technology for mobility (Intelligent Transport Systems – ITS).

Elisabet Viladomiu i Marnet | Risk, Crisis and Resilience Director 
Barcelona, 1965. She has a degree in Physics (University of Barcelona, UB), Masters in Environmental Technology and Engineering (Polytechnic University of Catalunya, UPC), Business Resilience Auditor for Business Resilience Certification Consortium International, BSI and AENOR ISO 22301 auditor and specialist. She is an expert in crisis management and risk analysis, resilience and business continuity, as well as in energy and environmental management. She was worked for the main energy, water, mobility, infrastructure, finance and food sector companies nationally and internationally, mainly from Insitut Cerdà’s Chile office and has directed the Crisis Management Support Service since it started up in 2010.

Joan Lluís Quer Cumsille | General Manager in Chile, and SeCRO (Service for Crisis and Resilience management in Organisations) director 
Santiago de Chile in 1961, he is a Civil Engineer (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) and has a Masters in Business Administration from IESE. He joined Institut Cerdà in 2016. He has wide ranging experience in top level management of both public and private companies in the infrastructure, engineering, transport and environmental sectors. He has expertise in integrated management of public-private collaborative projects. He has been president and CEO of Infrastructures company of the Government of Catalonia, CEO of the AudingIntraesa Group and General Director of the Catalan Water Agency.

David Monrós i Marín | Finance and Internal Services Director 
Barcelona, 1970. He has a diploma in Business Studies (Open University of Catalonia, UOC) and a Masters in Management of non-profit organizations (University of Barcelona). Since 2004 he has coordinated the internal management of Institut Cerdà in terms of economic and financial aspects, procurement, human resources and information technology. He has extensive experience in management and accounting, tax and mercantile business consultancy. Before joining Institut Cerdà he worked in various consultancy companies, as well in various associations and private foundations.
