Institut Cerdà participated in the World Association of PPP Units & Professionals (WAPPP) Annual Congress 2022, moderating a panel discussion on the “Growing Role of Private Sector Initiatives and Philanthropy in PPPs.”. The discussion was moderated by Elisabet Viladomiu, Director of Public-Private Collaboration of the Institut Cerdà. The participants were Alina Puig from Mercadona, Max von Abendroth and Dulcinea Meijide Vidal from AGBAR.
The debate covered a several aspects including:
- The importance of forming #alliances to address the social challenges that have emerged following the coronavirus crisis such as income inequality, climate change and use of resources.
- How companies are uniquely positioned to lead an important set of changes that create societal value and help solve global challenges.
- How the third sector can be an agent of change and play a decisive role in any alliance.
- Which initiatives might cause public-private partnerships to evolve and change in the coming years.
