Good Practices in CSR at the University of Barcelona
Institut Cerdà and Lunet, SL participated together in the Good Practices Workshop organized by Caritas at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Barcelona. The event aimed to explain the value of Corporate Social Responsibility and was attended by around forty students of Business Administration and Management.
Fernando Porta, a volunteer at Caritas and at Universities with Heart (within the program Entities with Heart “Entidades con Corazón”), gave a presentation explaining the organization overall, emphasizing the attention to poverty and inequality. Joan Miquel Cardona, General Director of Lunet, presented the Lunet Solidarity Foundation and its collaboration with organisations like Caritas.
Daniel Ortiz, Director of Social Innovation at Institut Cerdà, presented the concept of Social Innovation, which is broader and more transversal than Corporate Social Responsibility. This concept tries to transform the organizations, going beyond philanthropic interests alone. It aims to integrate local social challenges in the business of companies so that stakeholders recognize and take account these challenges.
